The family

Whitney Marsh was an avid runner, biker, swimmer, chef, wife, mother, and so much more. Her kindness and service touched many in our Arkansas community, which led us to continue her legacy. Even throughout chemotherapy and battling pancreatic cancer, Whitney still found herself running 10 miles daily. The Whitney Marsh Foundation (WMF) was birthed from Whitney’s determination to not let the illness define her. Annually, we run together as a community to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer to honor Whitney’s life and passion for running.

Her husband, Mike, and two daughters, Madison and Heidi, survive her.

Mike is a local physician who loves their dog Joey (when he isn’t eating food off the counter or clothes from the laundry room) and biking like he did with Whitney. Dr Marsh is in charge of event safety, race certification and route, and official USA Track and Field timing and certification.

Madison is a senior at the United States Air Force Academy as a physics major. In her free time, she loves to fly planes, cook lots of desserts like her mom, and compete in pageants. Madison is the co-Founder and President of WMF.

Heidi is a senior at Southside High School and is planning to attend Southern Methodist University for a degree in pre-law. She loves to run cross country and track, swim competitively, and run student government. Heidi is the co-Founder and Vice President of WMF.

Whitney also has three loving sisters: Stefanie, Melanie, and Kimberly. All of them dedicate their free time to helping WMF run social media, vendors, and race day post-parties! Whitney’s step-children Nick, Chris, and Sarah Marsh have also been vital to the organization with media and website creation.
